A Study Of Emerging Abbreviations From 2001 To 2018

As an important part of Chinese vocabulary,Chinese abbreviations are often used in language communication.This paper studies 565 new abbreviations in the new words and expressions dictionaries and the network platform from 2001 to 2018,and investigates the formation,vocabulary levels,causes and development of the new abbreviations,so as to help understand the overall appearance of Chinese abbreviations in the new century,promote the research of Chinese lexicology and the compilation and revision of dictionaries.This paper mainly includes the following partsIntroduction: This paper mainly expounds the reasons for the topic sel ection,research status,research significance,research methods and corpus sources.Chapter one: the overview of new abbreviations from 2001 to 2018.This paper discusses the definition and scope of new abbreviations,and determines the selection criteria of new abbreviations;It also makes a quantitative study of565 new abbreviations from the aspects of syllable number,part of speech distribution,grammatical structure type and semantic field.Chapter two: the formation of new abbreviations from 2001 to 2018.This paper discusses the abbreviation ways of new abbreviations,and points out that in addition to the traditional abbreviation ways of "condensation","truncation" and "numeral marking",there are many special extraction ways of new abbreviations,such as "word combination","sentence abbreviation","figurative abbreviation" and "word imitation abbreviation";It also discusses the corresponding relationship between the abbreviated form and the original form from the aspects of form,semantics and g rammatical function,and there is an imbalance between them.Chapter three: the lexicalization level of new abbreviations from 2001 to2018.Based on the repetition frequency,structural solidity and grammatical function of abbreviations,565 new abbreviations are divided into three levels:high word abbreviation,middle word abbreviation and low word abbreviation.According to the theory of "word model",this paper analyzes the types of new abbreviations and discusses the characteristics of new abbreviatio n models.Chapter four: the causes and characteristics of the new abbreviations from2001 to 2018.This paper discusses the reasons for the large number of new abbreviations from the aspects of internal language,external language and language users’ psychology,and sums up the new changes of new abbreviations in addition to the basic characteristics of traditional abbreviations.that is,more flexible way of formation,more distinct semantic color,more obvious trend of ethnicity,etc.Chapter five: the influence and standardization of new abbreviations from2001 to 2018.This paper analyzes the positive and negative effects of the new abbreviations,and puts forward the corresponding principles and strategies for the non-standard phenomenon of the new ab breviations.Chapter six: the introduction and suggestion of the new abbreviations in modern Chinese dictionary.Taking the emerging abbreviations included in the modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition)as an example,the paper analyzes the characteristics of the new abbreviations in the modern Chinese dictionary,and puts forward some suggestions for the further introdu ction of the new abbreviations.Conclusion: summarize the main research content of this paper,reflect on the shortcomings of the research,and propose the future research direction.
