Research And Arrangement On Variant Forms Of The Same Word In Modern Chinese Dictionary(7^th Edition)

This article takes the 7th edition of Modern Chinese Dictionary as the research object,makes a quantitative description of all the groups of Variant Forms of the Same Word in this dictionary,and tries to arrange the 610 groups of Variant Forms of the Same Word with same meanings from three types:variant forms of the same word with non-standard words,variant forms of the same word of monomorphemic words and variant forms of the same word of compound words.The body of the article is divided into four chapters.The first chapter introduces the reasons for selecting the topic,and briefly reviews the research results about Modern Chinese Dictionary and Variant Forms of the Same Word.Furthermore,the research object,research corpus source,research significance and methods will be given in this chapter.The second chapter describes the collection mode and quantity of variant forms of the same word in Modern Chinese Dictionary(7^thedition),classifies them from the perspective of the spatial distribution,and introduces the general situation of variant forms of the same word in this dictionary.At the same time,the variant forms of the same word in Modern Chinese Dictionary(7^thedition)are compared with The First Series of Standardized Forms of Words with Non-standardized Variant Forms and Modern Chinese Dictionary(6^thedition)to illustrate the similarities and differences.The third chapter tries to arrange the 610groups of variant forms of the same word with same meanings in Modern Chinese Dictionary(7^thedition)according to the principles of versatility,motivation,systematicness,semantic clarity and intonation,which are divided into three types:variant forms of the same word with non-standard words,variant forms of the same word of monomorphemic words and variant forms of the same word of compound words.The fourth chapter is a conclusion,which summarizes the previous chapters and points out the shortcoming of the article and the problems that need to be further discussed.The existence of variant forms of the same word not conducive to the standardized development of Chinese characters and vocabularies,but also affects the publishing quality of books,and does not meet the requirements of language economy,which is an urgent problem in Chinese vocabulary.This article collates and tries to sort out the 610 groups of variant forms of the same word with same meanings in Modern Chinese Dictionary(7^thedition),in order to provide some reference for the promulgation of new language specifications and the revision of dictionary reference books.
