Translation Report On E-C Translation Of How Machines Work

In the current era,the introduction of high-quality children’s literature is of great significance for domestic children to broaden their horizons,accept advanced culture and form a positive and correct world outlook.Therefore,the principles that should be followed in the translation of children’s literature will be scientifically discussed in this translation report,in order to highlight the importance of children’s book translation norms under the guidance of theory.It is a global wish that the quality of translated children’s literature can be continuously improved,so that the correct value orientation and innovative thinking can be acquired by our domestic children through excellent translated books.The materials of this translation report are selected from How machines work,one of the cooperative translation projects which was issued by Beijing Words Talk Translation Company.The Reception Aesthetic Theory is adopted as guidance through the whole translation process.Based on the fact,this report aims to discuss the guiding role of the theory in the selected translation texts and the application of specific translation skills.The Reception Aesthetic Theory was put forward by German Professor Hans Robert Jauss and focuses on the active role of readers in accepting the literature.Fundamentally,literary works are created for readers who are the active subjects of literary activities.To some extent,the life length of a literary work depends on the acceptability degree of the readers.Only through reading can the literary work have realistic and concrete values.This translation report is divided into four parts,which are translation task description,translation process description,translation examples analysis and translation practice summary.
