| Bitan with Korean is the written record of the conversation between the Japanese aristocrat Okochi Teruna and his friends and the second Joseon Susinsa Kim Hong-jip,Lee Yong-suk and Lee Jyeon in 1880.Through the study of transcripts,annotations and research,this paper summarizes and sorts out the main contents of each written conversation,and probes into the diplomatic situation of Korea in modern times by using the records of the Joseon Tongsinsa(通信使),Susinsa(修信使),and missions to Imperial China(燕行使).This paper is mainly divided into three parts.The first chapter is the historical background of written coversation with Korean and the biography of the characters involved in the written talk.It illustrates the situation in East Asia in the middle and late 19th century and the context of the second Joseon Susinsa,so that readers can have a clear understanding of the reasons for the written talk and the change of diplomatic thoughts of modern Korea.The second chapter is a brief introduction to the content of bitan with Korean,which summarizes the main contents of the eight written talks and letters.The third chapter is based on Bitan with Korean to explore the change of modern Korean diplomacy.This chapter is divided into three sections to study the diplomatic reality of modern Korea in the 1880s from three aspects:the historical review of communication,the system of service and the Koakai(兴亚会).At the end of the paper,the text and annotations of Bitan with Korean are attached.This paper hopes to provide new materials and perspectives for the study of modern East Asia. |
