Analysis On The Application Mode And Emotional Expression Of Doll Image In Modern And Contemporary Painting

As one of the toys exist in human history,dolls are closely related to human beings from the beginning of artificial objects.It comes from the creation of human imagination and carries strong human feelings,which can be considered the material represents human spiritual world.With the beginning of the industrial revolution,the manufacturing industry developed rapidly.Especially with today’s highly developed manufacturing,the image of dolls can be seen everywhere in our everyday life.Due to the differences among different regions,countries,races,cultures and customs,the image of dolls is produced very differently.The different images of dolls also reflect different society,and moreover,these images become cultural representations under different social backgrounds.Dolls also inspire many artists in their practice because of the person-like feature and the characteristics of being even,true and unreal.Sometimes the image of doll are often used as metaphor and symbol of their own emotional expression.And also due to different social backgrounds and ideas of artists,they use doll images in their practice in a variety of ways,speak of various feelings.On this basis,from the perspective of artistic creation methodology,this paper systematically look into the use and emotional expression of doll image in modern and contemporary painting.This paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter,through combing the social meaning of doll image and the current research in the world.It shows that the studies of doll image in contemporary painting are mostly interpreted directly based on the understanding of psychology and sociology,but not so many from the perspective of art practice methodology,in other words,how artists use doll image in their works,what specific ways they use it and what kind of thoughts and emotions they express.Starting from this aspect,this chapter determines that the use and emotional expression of doll image in modern and contemporary painting are the research topics of this paper.I hope it can not only sort out the working context of related artists,but also have important reference value and methodological significance for the author’s art practice with doll image as the theme.The second chapter clarifies the difference between dolls and other toys from the essence of life form characteristics,and analyzes its physical and social attributes.From this,we find that with the continuous development of society,the physical attributes of dolls are also richly evolved.Behind these evolutions,it also witnesss its social attributes.It is becoming more and more diverse and complicated in different social contexts.Therefore,dolls have also become cultural symbols of different regions,countries and races.The image of dolls in these different cultural backgrounds carries rich symbolic narratives,and has become a deep emotional and spiritual metaphor in artists’ works.The third chapter analyzes the diversity of doll image styles in contemporary painting and the path and method of emotional expression of doll images in contemporary painting through the case of relevant artists.I saw a variety of possibilities in art making as a theme of painting,which brought great inspiration and reference significance to the author’s own practice.The fourth chapter makes a systematic analysis and combing of my own creative context and development of work.Through the relevant works,it seems that the spiritual meaning behind the image of choosing a doll,and also witnesses the author’s use and specific emotional transformation in painting.Through this demonstration,I had a better understanding of my own art practice.The fifth part is based on summing up the thesis.The author realised that the dolls are not only toys in our day to day life,as the nature of intimate relationship to humans,their attributes develop socially and physically.Following all the variants and developments,we can gather the hidden features of culture from different regions.At the same time,they also reveal the emotional demands varied from multiple backgrounds.Therefore when using dolls as the theme for the painting,it is more than plainly expressing the emotion,it reflects the mentality and culture preferences of the artist in a deeper way.All the fascinating finds facilitate the author’s inspiration and methodology in painting.
