Practical Exploration Of Chinese Lacquer In Fiber Art

This article studies the practical exploration of lacquer in fiber art.It mainly focuses on the creative experiment of three-dimensional shaping of Chinese lacquer cotton gloves.In traditional lacquerware,the combination of lacquer and fiber is found,mostly in the form of fiber as the lacquer bases.As technology advances,the boundaries of various categories and disciplines have become more and more blurred.The diversity of materials is particularly important in artistic creation.This allowed the author to discover more possibilities for the combination of Chinese lacquer and fiber.In addition to daily use,gloves can also be used as materials for our creative works,and when used appropriately,they can show the vitality that art gives them in a brand new form.As a material for fiber art,gloves have strong plasticity.On the other hand,as a material,Chinese lacquer is viscous and rich in colors,which can form a strong contrast with plain and cheap cotton gloves.This allowed the author to see the feasibility of combining the two and inspired the author’s experimental exploration of the combination of practical fiber objects and lacquer.First,the author laid the theoretical foundation for the thesis by arranging,analyzing,and summarizing the background study of the combination of lacquer and fiber.Second,after understanding the relevant theoretical knowledge and specific production techniques of lacquerware and fiber art,the author analyzed the classic works of the combination of lacquer and fiber in three aspects: "Fiber Hidden Under the Lacquer Decorative Layer","Lacquer Perfused in Fiber" and "Characteristics of Materials-The Three-dimensional Shaping of the Combination of Lacquer and Fiber",to summarize the contemporaneity and necessity of the material diversification.In addition to the work itself,what we should see is the emotional expression behind the work,the beauty of the handmade texture,and the temperature of the handicraft work.In the practical exploration of the combination of the two,the author pursued the idea of "seeking common ground while reserving differences" in materials,and tried to make the combination of the two unified and harmonious at the same time to show their respective characteristics,and strove to achieve the purpose of "transferring the meaning of materials while integrating new ideas".Finally,through the specific practical exploration of "Fruit Series-The Application of Lacquer on Cotton Gloves",it is concluded that materials not only follow the creative theme as the main goals in artistic creation,but we should dig deep for more of their possibilities and contingency.In addition to highlighting the inherent characteristics of materials,we should break people’s traditional inherent thinking and think about the characteristics of the materials themselves and the cultural orientation behind them.The experimental exploration of the three-dimensional shaping of Chinese lacquer and cotton gloves finds more creative forms and methods for lacquer art and fiber art,finds more ideas for the cross-border integration of the two,and provides more vertical thinking for the development of lacquer framework.This is the product of the current artistic materials and epoch innovation.Hope this study will serve as a reference for material cross-border integration in the future.
