In recent years,more and more people have been paying attention to the influence of affective factors in language teaching.Many studies have found that anxiety is an important part of affective factors,which will have a certain impact on learners’ language acquisition.At the same time,students’ anxiety is very common in English learning,which will affect students’ enthusiasm for English learning.Classroom teaching is the main teaching method in our country,the teacher’s classroom feedback plays a certain degree of guidance in it,and it also has an important impact on students’ language output and emotions.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the influence of teachers’ feedback in class on students’ English learning anxiety.This research takes 4 English teachers and 217 students in the first grade of Bin He Senior Middle School in Lin Yi City,Shandong Province as the survey objects.Through questionnaires,teacher-student interviews,and classroom observations,the survey is carried out to investigate the following questions: this research mainly discusses the following questions:(1)What is the current situation of high school students’ English learning anxiety?(2)What are the characteristics of high school English teachers’ classroom feedback?(3)What are the effects of different types of teacher feedback on high school students’ English learning anxiety?The research found:(1)High school students have a higher level of English learning anxiety.(2)The main types of teacher feedback in class include positive feedback and negative feedback.Positive feedback words include simple positive feedback,repeating praise,extending praise and evaluating praise,negative feedback words include clear error correction,restatement,inducement,metalanguage feedback,request for clarification,repetition,critical feedback,and transfer feedback.(3)When teachers use the three implicit negative classroom feedback words of inducement,restatement,and metalanguage feedback in the classroom,they have a certain effect on eliminating students’ anxiety.The teacher’s request for clarification and repetition has a certain effect on the anxiety of students with low levels of anxiety.Based on the findings and results of the survey,this research puts forward some feasible suggestions on the classroom feedback of high school teachers,in order to promote high school English teaching.
