Straightforward Description Translation From The Perspective Of Hermeneutics Translation Theory

Straightforward description is a normal writing technique in Chinese literature.However,little research has been made on the translation strategies of Straightforward Narration in the translation of Chinese novels,which is a great defect in the field of translation research.Therefore,under the guidance of hermeneutics translation theory and according to the theory of “The Fourfold Translation Motion”,this study will take The Town Without You as an excellent science fiction short story as the raw language material to study the translation of straightforward description.According to George Steiner’s “The Fourfold Translation Motion”,which includes“trust”,“aggression”,“incorporation” and “restitution”.The first step we take when we translate is to “trust” the original text,then boldly invade the original text,accurately grasp its information,and then import the original text by means of reconstruction,adjustment and other ways to make the translation consistent with the target readers’ expression habits.then choosing to improve the translation.The author believes that every single part of “The Fourfold Translation Motion” is not independent,nor should it become a formula in straightforward description translation,but a comprehensive application.For the simple ones,the author prefers to regard literal translation as the first choice in order to maintain the same form with that of the original text.If there are deep meanings or no corresponding words,then reconstruct and adjust words.At last,if the information between the original and the translated text cannot be equal,the translated text can be compensated by different translation strategies,such as addition and omission addition and omission.Through this translation practice,the translator believes that hermeneutic translation theory is of guiding significance for the translation of Chinese novels,and“The Fourfold Translation Motion” provides a methodological guidance for translation.Straightforward description is a unique skill in literature.In straightforward description translation,with the guidance of “The Fourfold Translation Motion”,translators can not only keep the original characteristics of straightforward description,but also maintain in the targeted language the original information of the straightforward description as much as possible.Translators should obey the faithfulness of translation and pay attention to the similarities and differences of language styles,and also confirm whether the communication effect of translation is consistent with the original.
