| The English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)clearly states that English courses in the compulsory education stage undertake the task of cultivating students’ basic English literacy and developing students’ thinking ability.The Ministry of Education has issued the Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening Curriculum Reform and Implementing the Fundamental Task of Cultivating Talents with Moral Education,which included thinking quality as one of the core elements of English discipline on March 2014.The improvement of thinking quality is also conducive to the improvement of the other three aspects of core English literacy(language ability,learning ability and cultural awareness).With the deepening of education reform,all kinds of schools have taken a lot of positive measures in order to complete the task of knowledge-teaching and the cultivation of discipline core literacy,but some rural junior high schools’ opinion of exam-oriented-education is deeply rooted,as the lack of information,communicationblocked,less investment in education and other reasons.The quality of English teaching is not high,and the phenomenon of “dumb English ”is serious.There are not a few inefficient classes where students spend a lot of time and energy but fail to achieve the desired results.In addition,the principle of “listening and speaking first ”is implemented through the whole learning.Speaking-listening class lays the foundation for students to use English,is the premise of developing students’ thinking quality,and is the sufficient and necessary condition of reading and writing class.Therefore,it is important to conduct efficient class research on rural English speaking-listening class which based on the cultivation of thinking quality.This paper starts from the teaching practice concerning efficient classes and particularity of rural English classes,but every part penetrates the theoretical foundation.The input hypothesis by Krashen S.D.,output hypothesis by Swain,constructive learning theory and Bloom Taxonomy provide theoretical guidance for this paper.This paper puts forward teaching strategies targeted for rural students.At the same time,I analyze the thinking-cultivation results through the students’ questionnaire,classroom observation and the test results.This paper focuses on two questions:1.How should the efficient English speaking-listening class be developed to cultivate the thinking quality?2.What is the influence of thinking quality cultivation on English scores in rural junior middle schools?In order to solve these two research questions,the author uses the questionnaire survey and interviews as the research methods.The study found that students’ thinking quality training is at a lower level in Heze Peony district XX junior high school.The purpose of the classroom teaching is mainly to impart knowledge,and the cultivation of thinking quality is ignored.Based on the analysis of questionnaire survey and interview results,the author further explores the strategies to cultivate the thinking quality of rural middle school students in order to achieve efficient class results.Finally,combining the current situation and strategies of cultivating thinking quality,the author designed an efficient course of junior high English speaking-listening class,to help enhance thinking quality to higher degree and lead to more efficient speaking-listening class,and to improve the comprehensive use of English quality.This study has significance in improving English teaching quality in rural middle schools.It enriches the research results of the efficient English class in rural junior middle schools based on the cultivation of thinking quality,and has positive significance for the renewal of the teaching views of English teachers in rural junior middle schools.However,this study has some limitations,such as limited time and conditions.The efficient English speaking-listening classroom model based on the thinking quality in rural junior middle schools still needs to be improved. |
