Research And Creation Of Children’s Science Picture Books In Museums

As a crystallisation of human culture,museums have the mission of spreading scientific knowledge;children’s picture books on science are an important carrier for spreading scientific knowledge and an excellent way to raise children’s scientific accomplishment;the exploration of deep space is the high point of technological development in the world today,The success of the space mission triggered "Space fever for all" again and again in china,such as Chang’e Lunar Exploration Project,Mars Exploration Project,Space Station Construction,and has also made aerospace science education more regular in China.This thesis extracts elements from the exhibition hall of the Beijing Planetarium,and integrates the rich knowledge of universe and aerospace in the museum with children’s picture books,creating knowledgeable and interactive science picture books from a child-oriented perspective to enrich the museum’s thematic educational activities and cultivate children’s spirit of scientific exploration.Firstly,this thesis analyses the market situation of children’s picture books in China and the opportunities and challenges faced by museums in their development,clarifies the research direction of children’s science picture books in museums,further researches and analyses the current situation and research results of museum picture book development at home and abroad,and sorts out the research ideas and research methods.Secondly,the thesis discusses the theoretical basis for the development of children’s science picture books in museums,the thesis analyses the development strategy of children’s science picture books in museums from three aspects: the combination of content and exhibition hall resources,the fun and interactive reading method and the various stylized illustration expressions.And then,the study analyses the current situation and problems of the development of picture books in the Beijing Planetarium,completes the design practice of the original children’s series science picture books Space Odyssry.The content is extracted and the audience is analysed based on the science knowledge in the exhibition hall of the Beijing Planetarium,and the interesting structure of the science picture books is designed using various interactive forms,and the illustrations of the inside pages of the picture books are created through the treatment of composition and flat texture illustration style.Finally,the children’s science picture book A Space Odyssey from the Beijing Planetarium is shown and extended to expand the interactive approach of the picture book.The author hopes that the series of children’s science picture books A Space Odyssey,created on the basis of the rich science knowledge of the Beijing Planetarium,will provide new ideas and creativity for the development of children’s science picture books in museums,strengthen the precise cultural services of museums,promote the education popularisation of scientific knowledge,cultivate the scientific spirit of children’s active exploration and innovation,and enhance national pride and cultural belonging.
