Musical theater is a comprehensive art form that combines high art with popular art,and combines performance and commerce to inject new blood into traditional art.In a broad sense,the Musical began with Irving Berlin(1888-1989)as a departure from the Viennese operetta tradition,and it was explored and developed by some excellent creative groups,led by golden partners Richard Rodgers(1902-1979)and Oscar Hammerstein II(1895-1960).But the musical culminated in Alan Jay Lerner’s(1918-1986)and Frederieck Loewe(1901-1988),and since then it has had a long descent,punctuated by the occasional flare of Stephen Joshua Sondheim’s(1930-).The landmark musical,My Fair Lady,premiered in 1956 and continues to this day,based on George Bernard Shaw’s(1856-1950)play Pygmalion.Tells the story of the underlying flower girl Eliza by Professor Higgins after a series of language and culture training,eventually grow into a new women’s independence and freedom,which contains rich connotation and philosophy of the migration implementation class,both music style and connotation of the script is still of profound significance to the present social development.This paper focuses on the creation background,music ontology and stage performance of Eliza in My Fair Lady.Based on the excellent research achievements of previous writers,it carries out academic innovation and strives to accurately shape Eliza’s stage image.The paper is divided into four parts:the introduction part expounds the significance of the topic,the research status,the innovation points and the main research contents and methods.In the first chapter,the author interprets the source of the play and the text of the musical.It is divided into three parts.The first part introduces the play the flower girl and its author.The second part introduces the musical My Fair Lady.The third part of the musical My Fair Lady Eliza’s main singing section of the script analysis.The second chapter is the analysis of Eliza’s music noumenon.It is divided into four parts.The author analyzes the musical characteristics of Eliza’s four classical verses from four aspects:the overall structure,mode and tonality,rhythm characteristics and the echo between music and dramatic images.Its characteristics are as follows:most of the chords are composed of small type;Use more concise and catchy melodies for the audience to better understand;The orchestra still USES the traditional two-pipe small orchestra;Rhythm contains certain elements of jazz music;Music is closely associated with dramatic imagery.The third chapter,on the basis of the first two chapters from the perspective of the interpretation of the actors,the shaping of Eliza’s stage image is discussed.It is divided into four parts.The first part elaborates from the aspect of language characteristics.The second part from the singing skills of the specific analysis;The third part explains the stage performance.The fourth part expresses the reflection on the shaping of Eliza’s stage image.
