Discourse refers to a structured,coherent and complete oral or written language that expresses complete meaning in a certain context.Discourse cohesion plays an important role in the fluency and coherence of the text.One of the most important means of connection.In Chinese teaching,we found that learners often have problems with discourse reference when expressing in paragraphs,which has a serious impact on the expression and comprehension of discourse.Therefore,this paper studies the acquisition of learners’ discourse referential cohesion,and collects a one-year oral corpus of seven international students in the Production-Oriented Approach(POA)experimental class.The overall usage,the development of acquisition over time,the situation of bias and the reasons for the bias are analyzed,and the acquisition rules and characteristics of denotative cohesion are summarized.On this basis,the POA is compared with other teaching methods,the reasons for the differences between the two are analyzed,and suggestions for improvement are put forward for the teaching process and textbook compilation.The study found that in terms of learners’ overall use and acquisition and development of discourse referential cohesion,personal referential and demonstrative referent occupy a relatively high proportion,and are the two most frequently used referential cohesive devices.Among them,there will be some fluctuations in personal reference in the development,but the overall frequency of use decreases slowly;the use of indicative reference shows a slow increase trend;Affected by the topic,the more unfamiliar the topic is,the easier it is to involve related proper nouns,and the higher the frequency of their use;the zero-type reference can best reflect the language characteristics of Chinese,and the frequency of use rises slowly during development,and after learners pay attention to it.showing an accelerating upward trend.On the whole,learners’ mastery of referential cohesion shows a gradual upward trend.There are three types of errors in learners’ use of discourse referential cohesive devices:overuse,misuse,and omission.The main reasons for the errors include negative transfer of the mother tongue,insufficient grasp of the rules of the target language,inappropriate learning strategies and communication strategies,and insufficient attention in the teaching process.On this basis,this paper compares the oral corpus of POA with the oral corpus of other teaching methods.The data show that POA has a greater advantage in cultivating learners’ discourse referential cohesion.This is mainly due to the special teaching links such as small speeches and brainstorming.These links can effectively cultivate learners’discourse ability,ensure a large number of Chinese input and output,and improve overall discourse ability.As an important part of discourse ability The referential cohesion ability has also been improved.Finally,based on the overall characteristics and development characteristics of students’ acquisition of allegorical cohesive means,the characteristics of POA itself,and the comparison with other teaching methods,this paper proposes to improve the mind map,provide periodic special explanations of cohesive words,and add appropriate model essay comments.Explain three suggestions with typical errors,in order to better improve the learners’ ability to use referential cohesion in the future POA teaching.
