| Under the background of English college entrance examination reform,in order to help the junior high school students to adapt more quickly and efficiently to the new English training direction and goal,to achieve the requirements and standards proposed in “China’s Standards of English Language Ability”(CSE,in short),English teachers should create English learning conditions as much as possible for students,so that students will be able to have more opportunities to contact,experience and perceive English.However,according to the language output theory and task-based teaching theory,English pre-class speech meets exactly the needs of the development of English teaching that have been mentioned above.As long as the English teachers carry out the pre-class speech scientifically and reasonably through daily teaching,they can effectively help and encourage their students to carry on the training of oral English actively,so as to help them internalize language knowledge,cultivate and develop their oral English expression ability.This paper is based on the “China’s Standards of English Language Ability”promulgated by Ministry of Education in 2018 and a research that carried out in a junior high school in Xiamen.The research includes the investigation of the present situation of oral English in class,the practical application of pre-class speech in English teaching and the teaching practice of students giving English pre-class speech.The main purposes of this paper are to explore how to grasp the teaching goals and teaching processes of English pre-class speech in a reasonable way,how to test whether or not the pre-class speech activities can effectively help students improve their ability of oral English expression.At the end of the paper,the author put forward some suggestions on carrying out English pre-class speech in junior high school.Practice shows that the English pre-class speech of junior high school based on CSE,centering on the aspects of learning interest,cultural vision,cooperation and innovation,learning confidence and so on,can help junior high school students improve the current situation of oral expression and cultivate their oral expression ability. |
