Telling red stories well,inheriting red genes,and carrying forward revolutionary culture are important practical issues that need to be faced in the practice of journalism and communication in the new era.The creation of red historical documentary is one of the important forms of telling red stories.Film and television works have the advantage of audio-visual language in inheriting the red spirit and carrying forward the red culture.How to present the history of red in the form of documentary by means of data collection,shooting and interview,post-editing and so on is a problem that can only be solved by combining theory and practice organically.This paper studies and analyzes the creation techniques and expression methods of such documentaries,and tries to provide new ideas for the creation of historical documentaries.This paper sorts out the challenges and problems encountered by the author in the process of creating documentaries,and records many details in the process of topic selection and planning,in order to accumulate practical experience for the creation of historical documentaries and provide new perspectives and inspirations.
