Research On The Relationship Between Modern Western Painting And Bauhaus Design Education In The 20th Century

The 20 th century is a period of rapid development of Western society.The development of economic society,the progress of industrial civilization and the new scientific and technological revolution have made great changes in the development of Western society.At that time,western social structure,values,social customs and many other areas have undergone many changes.These changes have also brought about wonderful movements in the field of western culture and art from different aspects.It is against this background that western modernist painting in the 20 th century came into being and developed.Western modernist painting began at the end of the 19 th century and ran through the whole 20 th century.It has gradually broken the shackles of traditional Western painting,and is quite different from traditional Western painting in content,form and expression media.Western modernist painting is no longer a mechanical copy of the objective material world,but presents a great change.Bauhaus is a school of modern art and design founded in Weimar,Germany at the beginning of the 20 th century.Although it only existed for 14 years,it is well-known.Bauhaus college came into being in the modern art trend of the 20 th century in the West.Different from the old art college,Bauhaus college emphasized the combination of art and technology at the beginning of its establishment.The teachers of Bauhaus college included many famous western modern painting artists at that time,such as Paul Kerry,Kandinsky and so on.They brought the form and concept of Western modernist painting into Bauhaus’ s classroom.Bauhaus’ s teaching content and practice influenced the development of modern western painting in the 20 th century.The paper is mainly divided into five chapters.The first chapter mainly discusses the development of Western society in the 20 th century,and explores the social background of the formation of western modern painting in the 20 th century.The second chapter mainly discusses the origin and development of Bauhaus college,including the establishment and development of Bauhaus college,curriculum and teachers,teaching philosophy and its characteristics.The third and fourth chapters mainly explore the relationship between 20 th century western modernist painting art and Bauhaus education,mainly from two aspects.First,explore the influence of 20 th century western modern painting on Bauhaus education,including the influence of western modern painting modeling,color expression,creative media,symbolic language on Bauhaus education.Secondly,it explores the influence of Bauhaus education on the development of western modern painting in the 20 th century,including the influence of Bauhaus education on Kandinsky and Paul Kerry,and the influence on the development of American abstract painting after World War II.The fifth chapter focuses on the Bauhaus concept in contemporary art and design,as well as the relationship between contemporary art and design.This paper aims to explore the relationship between the 20 th century western modernist painting art and Bauhaus design education.This is not only a review of modern design and painting in the 20 th century,but also a prospect of the future development of design and art.At the same time,it provides a reference for the form innovation of our design and artistic creation and the development of art and design education.
