Performing Minnan Songs By Using Bel Canto

Hokkien songs are the essential parts of the Southern Fujian Culture.It not only retain the spirit and artistic conception of the ancient central plains culture,but also express the rural sentiment of the traditional culture incisively and vividly.Influenced by the specific culture and region,Hokkien songs have their own unique voice and rhythm in their singing.Bel canto has been recognized as the most scientific method of vocalization in the world.Since it was introduced into China at the beginning of last century,it took root and germinated in China.Many experts and scholars in China are also exploring and studying how to make ethnic folk music singing more scientific and internationalized by using the voice method of bel canto for reference.To further promote the spread of Hokkien songs,this paper focuses on the breathing,enunciation and resonance of Hokkien songs,and tries to integrate the singing characteristics of bel canto and Hokkien nursery rhyme into the singing.
