Research About The Communication Methods Of Chinese Mainland Independent Documentary Based On Standpoint Theory

Independent documentary is a special product born from the transformation of Chinese society,which differs from documentary and feature film under the mainstream ideology.It emphasizes the author’s individual expression while diminishing the authoritative discourse.Drawing on the social reality from a common and personal perspective,it forms a unique part of Chinese documentary territory.Based on Standpoint Theory,this thesis discussed the communication and development of Chinese mainland independent documentary through the methods of literature research and field work.By reviewing literature,it mapped the development of domestic independent documentaries over the past 30 years,dividing the development stages and summarising the characteristics of independent documentary communication and development.The standpoint of independent documentary author has always been an issue that restricts the development of independent documentary.By using Standpoint Theory,this study deconstructed the standpoint of the communication subject,analysing the relationship between the subject and the recipient in the process of communication,summarizing the communication methods of independent documentary,which built an interactive bridge for the subject and the recipient.Through personal experience and field research,this research conducted a communication and creation practice of independent documentary,from which the summary of similar cases in the independent documentary communication were studied and the previous practice film materials were edited.In this way,the film was entitled both realistic and historical significances,which served as an theoretical basis and practical example for later researchers.Independent documentary is a mirror that reflects social reality.It has unique socio-cultural and artistic values.The communication effect of independent documentary cannot be underestimated and its significance cannot be replaced.Through the practice of this thesis,sleeping individuals were awakened to write personally,which further broadened and accelerated the communication methods of independent documentary,opening up new perspectives for independent documentary communication research.By this research,hopefully we could sort out and analyse the existing problems in the current domestic independent documentary communication practice in order to promote the innovation of the independent documentary industry.
