You Qiu is one of Wumen Painters in the middle and late Ming dynasty.What people most commend is his plain sketch person image.The style is fine and clean without highly praise coloring.All the paintings are elaborately built on the primary and secondary relationship between people and scenes,orderly,rich and harmonious.In the middle and late Ming dynasty,there was a wave of ancient painting,and a lot of painting works with rich ancient themes appeared.The painting “Picture of Antique Appreciation”,which is a representative work of ancient themes,deserves people to take it as an example to study the works related to ancient themes,and as a model of classical plain sketch person image.This paper is mainly to classify and summarize the research data collected so far about the painting of “Picture of Antique Appreciation”,to understand the painting and personality of You Qiu,especially to master the skill of his painting,as well as the creation source of ancient works in the Ming dynasty.And to make a personalized analysis of the paintings of “Picture of Antique Appreciation” from two aspects,namely,the perspective of the plain sketch person image of You Qiu and its influence on ancient themes of “Picture of Antique Appreciation”.In particular,this paper makes a more detailed analysis of the layout,typical picture elements such as screen,and the differences and uniqueness from other ancient themes in “Picture of Antique Appreciation”,in the hope of giving people some help in the future research and creation of such works.
