With the rapid development of movies,more and more companies have entered the film and television industry.In order to remain competitive in the increasingly motivated markets,film companies have taken various responses,Mergers and acquisitions for industrial integration is one of the means,through the acquisition of small companies in the same industry,and the development of similar factors of production to reconfigure,forming a complete industrial chain to enhance their own strength.Mergers and acquisitions are meant to better meet challenges,but not all mergers and acquisitions are successful,A successful Merger and acquisitions can only be considered a reasonable resource allocation and optimization,and whether or not a synergy effect has occurred is an important basis for judging its success.In the early21 st century,Disney,once the overlord of two-dimensional animation,was challenged,under the impact of 3d animation,the company’s animation production can not keep up with the development needs,resulting in the gradual loss of the dominant force in the animation market,to keep the company up to date with the Hollywood animation industry,disney chooses a merger and acquisition method to resume animation production,to enhance core competitiveness and expand market share.This thesis is based on the theory of synergy effect of M & A,and provides theoretical support for specific M & A activities.Targeting research through M & A activity of Disney’s acquisition of Pixar Animation Studios,analyze the strategic thinking of a high-quality film production company on the road to becoming bigger and stronger,Step-by-step detailed explanations of the specific synergies that Disney has from merger and acquisition incentives to merger and acquisition scheme determination to realization,based on this analysis of the future direction and strategic layout of the development of China’s media companies.The article sorts out the history of Disney and clarifies the reasons for the company’s proposed merger and acquisition strategy,that is,the company has problems and crises in its development process,further analyze the solutions to Disney’s crisis,the strategic decision to acquire Pixar,and the synergies generated by Disney’s various production factors after the acquisition,combining specific cases with the theory of synergies to form a complete research system.The main content of the paper includes:The first part of the introduction is the background and significance of the research,the current status of the research,and related theoretical knowledge and research methods,including the concept of corporate mergers and acquisitions,synergy effects and specific theoretical content.The second chapter reviews the development history of the Disney company,analyzes the management,content,technology,and market crises behind the development,explains the reasons for Disney Film’s industrial mergers and acquisitions,and leads to a solution to the problem-the acquisition of Pixar.Taking the relationship between Disney and Pixar as an entry point,from the cooperation between the two companies to parting ways to acquisitions,the example illustrates the importance of Pixar to the Disney crisis and explains Disney’s approach to solving the crisis.The third chapter is the analysis of the specific synergy effect of Disney’s acquisition of Pixar Studio’s industrial integration.Disney Movie’s corporate culture,content production,and operations have improved after the acquisition,through a detailed comparison and analysis of the qualitative leap in these three aspects of the integrated Disney film,the development of industrial integration brought to Disney is explained,and the success of Disney film in strategic layout is demonstrated.The fourth chapter studies and summarizes the inspiration and prospects,and summarizes the synergies of Disney’s acquisition of Pixar,which can be used for reference to the corporate culture and production process of Chinese media companies,and thinking about the Disney M & A strategy’s expectations for the future development prospects of China’s media industry.
