Research On Individual Supervison Outcome

This research is aimed at counselors who accepted individual supervision.Through qualitative and quantitative research,we investigate the connotation and influencing factors of the supervision,develop a localized questionnaire on the supervision outcome of individual psychological counseling,and analyze the relationship among the supervisory working alliance,supervision satisfaction,and supervision outcome,to promote the development of domestic supervision research and practice.Study One conducted one-on-one interviews with 12 counselors who had received individual supervision,and used thematic analysis to code the interview data.The research results include the connotation of the supervision outcome,the dynamic influencing factors and the static influencing factors of the supervision outcome.Study Two combined interview results and literature analysis,developed the individual supervision outcome questionnaire,and verified the reliability and validity of the questionnaire through statistical analysis.The results showed that the questionnaire had good internal consistency reliability,test-retest reliability,content validity,structure validity and criterion validity.Study Three administered a test on 255 counselors with the supervision outcome questionnaire,supervision satisfaction scale,and supervisory working alliance questionnaire(supervisee version),and found that supervision satisfaction plays a mediator role between supervision outcome and supervisory working alliance.This research drew the following conclusions:(1)The connotation of the supervision outcome mainly includes three aspects: the change of the supervisee’s competence,the change of the counseling outcome,and the integration and development of the counselors ’s professional self;the dynamic influencing factors of the supervision outcome include the supervisee’s factor,the supervisor’s factor,and the factor on both sides of supervision;the static factors of the supervision outcome include the supervisee’s factor,the supervisor’s factor,the supervision settings,genre matching,and the system factor.(2)The individual supervision outcome questionnaire consists of 13 items,including two dimensions: professional self(9 items)and professional cooperation(4 items);(3)The individual supervision outcome questionnaire has good psychometric indicators,therefore it can be used as an effective tool to evaluate supervision outcome and put into the follow-up research.(4)The supervisory satisfaction plays a partial mediator role between the supervision outcome and the supervisory work alliance,and the mediating effect is 20%.
