With the advent of the Education Information Technology 2.0 era, learning in the smart classroom has become the new norm for school teaching in the information technology era.The construction and use of smarter classrooms has changed the environment and mode of traditional teaching. The introduction of various technologies into teaching has impacted the original ecological balance of traditional classrooms and brought a series of new challenges.Teachers and students are the two most critical elements in the classroom, and the interaction between them is an important link to promote the two-way development of teachers and students,as well as the process of individual socialization. There is a growing interest in the interaction processes and behavioural patterns between teachers and students in the smart classroom environment,as well as the interaction effects and roles of teachers and students in the smart classroom. This paper systematises the development of teacher-student interaction in smart classroom teaching by combing through the literature. The research on teacher-student interaction in smart classroom teaching is analysed, and the lack of microscopic research on primary school English classrooms in the smart classroom environment is found.Based on this, the 15 videos of the "One Teacher,One Excellent Lesson" primary school English lessons were used as the research object, and the ITIAS coding table and the role coding table were used as tools to collect data on teacher-student interaction and role coding in the smart classroom environment through video analysis and lagged sequence analysis. The study also proposes corresponding suggestions and countermeasures based on the analysis results, which provide a reference basis for optimising the English language curriculum in the smart classroom, thereby improving the educational effectiveness of the classroom. The study found that:(1)The students’ ’subjectivity’ was improved and the classroom atmosphere was harmonious.(2)There is sufficient interaction in the classroom, but ineffective interaction and unclear use of technology objectives.(3)The use of timely feedback systems was noted, but the use of generative resources was inadequate.(4)The classroom was compact, but there was confusion and unhelpfulness.(5)Assessment throughout, but single form lacking in student assessment.(6)Good teacher questioning strategies, but lack of creative questioning to stimulate students’ thinking. In response to the above problems,we propose the following strategies for optimising the primary school English classroom in a smart classroom environment:(1)focus on the efficient application of smart classroom technology features and technical support for personalised learning.(2)Focus on the diversity of smart classroom technology and the cultivation of innovative thinking with technical support.(3)Pay attention to all teaching links to realize effective interaction between teachers and students in smart classrooms.(4)Increase the forms of cooperative learning and enrich the language of classroom evaluation.(5)Build smart classrooms in line with primary school students’ cognition and improve the ability of teachers and students to solve technical problems. To strengthen students’ understanding and mastery of knowledge.
