Currently,China’s Standards of English Language(CSE)released in 2018 has entered the application research stage.Through literature review,this study finds that domestic scholars have begun to study the CSE scale from four aspects of listening,speaking,reading and writing,but few scholars have explored translation ability scales under the CSE framework.The translation ability scale is learner-centered,which is consistent with the current concept of autonomous learning research.After qualitative and quantitative researches by domestic experts,the CSE scale can be applied to learners’ learning and assessment.The new curriculum reform advocates a learner-centered learning model.More and more attention has been paid to learners’ autonomy in translation teaching and learning in China.The development of the scale provides a learning enlightenment for English learners who study translation independently.This study mainly adopts such methods as literature research,case study,questionnaire survey and SPSS to explore the applications of the translation ability level scale and self-assessment scale to autonomous learning.According to the CSE framework,the self-assessment scale for passive voice translation is designed.Through the research,it is found that the translation scale can be effectively applied to learners’ autonomous translation learning.The scale provides learners with translation learning strategies and standards for self-assessment of translation ability,which can promote learners’ autonomous learning.In the process of autonomous learning,learners can use the scale to make a self-assessment of their translation level,diagnose their translation ability,and adjust their learning goals and plans according to their actual situation.At the same time,the translation scale provides learners with translation learning methods and strategies,which helps learners improve their translation strategic ability.In addition,this study also finds that autonomous learning based on the translation scale can enhance learners’ learning confidence.Through the intuitive level division in the scale,learners can experience the sense of achievement brought by each level up,which can stimulate their interest in translation study.In addition,the study finds that a self-assessment scale can be designed based on the framework of CSE’s evaluation descriptors and learning requirements of a specific knowledge point to test students’ mastery of knowledge,so as to better carry out learning activities in the future.
