| As a language subject,English has always been highly valued as a window to the world and as a tool for international communication with us.The most significant aspect of elementary school English is that it emphasizes language production while also developing pupils’ language expression abilities.In today’s basic English classrooms,the game teaching approach has become one of the most essential teaching strategies.Teachers treat students as the most important subject in class,cultivating their enthusiasm in learning English through activities,stimulating students’ learning initiative,and allowing them to learn English more successfully and interestingly.However,in primary school English classrooms,the application of the game teaching approach is still insufficient,and game teaching is merely a formality,resulting in a major drop in the effectiveness of game teaching.This thesis seeks to gain a deeper understanding of the current situation of the game teaching method in primary English classrooms,identify problems,analyze the causes,and then put forward feasible suggestions for improvement.This thesis uses questionnaires,classroom observations and interviews with English teachers as research methods.From the perspectives of both students and teachers,an analysis of the current state of the practical application of the game teaching approach in the English class of an elementary school.I’ve summarized the current issues that it faces based on assessment and collection.The following are the three major aspects.To begin with,teachers are unable to use the game teaching method.Furthermore,students’ negative attitudes against the use of the game teaching approach.Thirdly,schools do not place enough emphasis on game-based learning.In light of the aforementioned issues,we examine the root causes of the issues from the viewpoints of teachers,students,and schools,and then make specific recommendations for improvement,in order to gradually overcome the existing flaws in it,to make the game teaching approach more responsive to students’ development at this stage,and to obtain greater influence on learners’ skills. |
