| Good reading ability is very important for the improvement of students’ performance and future development.Therefore,reading teaching is a very important part of senior high school English teaching.However,the traditional English teaching mainly focuses on Teachers’ explanation and students’ questions,and the reading materials are mostly textbooks and exercises.Students’ reading feelings are often ignored,resulting in students’ low interest in reading,negative attitude and lack of exercise in cooperative learning ability."Reading circle" teaching is a student-centered teaching mode.Compared with the traditional reading teaching mode,it constructs experiential,process and constructive English learning activities,implements the concept of English learning activities pointing to the development of subject core literacy proposed in the English curriculum standard for senior high schools(2017Edition),and plays a positive role in improving students’ reading interest,attitude and cooperative learning ability.In addition,with the advent of the era of "Internet plus education",blended teaching is more and more used in basic English teaching,showing strong application value,and has attracted the attention of all sectors of society.This study combines "reading circle" teaching with blended teaching,and aims to study the effectiveness and specific application methods of English "reading circle" teaching in senior high school using blended teaching mode,in order to improve students’ reading interest and attitude,promote reading performance and improve cooperative learning ability.Based on cooperative learning theory,constructivist learning theory and input hypothesis,this study puts forward the following research questions:(1)What is the current English reading situation(interest,attitude,cooperative learning ability)of senior high school students?(2)Does the mode of "reading circle" in senior high school English based on blended teaching have any influence on senior high school students’ reading interest,attitude and cooperative learning ability? What are the specific impacts?(3)Can the mode of "reading circle" in senior high school English based on blended teaching improve senior high school students’ English reading scores? Using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods,the author conducted a three-month teaching experiment on 48 students in a class of grade two in the school where the internship is located.At the same time,data were collected and analyzed through questionnaires,interviews and other methods.The research shows that the reading interest and cooperative learning ability of senior high school students have been significantly improved on the whole,and the improvement is more significant in the emotional dimension and behavioral tendency dimension of reading attitude;In addition,through the comparative analysis of the pre-test and post test scores of the reading test paper,it is found that the students’ reading scores have been improved to a certain extent on the whole.Among them,the students’ scores of word meaning guessing questions,reasoning judgment questions and main idea questions have been significantly improved.Through the "reading circle" model based on blended teaching,this study discusses how to improve students’ reading scores and interest,improve reading attitude and enhance cooperative learning ability in English reading teaching,in order to put forward reasonable suggestions for English reading teaching.However,the research still has some shortcomings,such as small sample size and short teaching experiment time.The experimental conclusions need to be tested by large samples and long-term teaching research. |
