| Tourism internationalization has become a new trend of the times,and tourism publicity has naturally risen to an important position.In order to better carry out external publicity work,the translation of tourism texts is particularly important,and the choice of translation strategies has become the core of translation work.The main content of this report is to combine the translation project of Emily Dickinson’s Gardening Life,a biographical tourism text translation project,to explore the choice of specific translation methods in the two translation strategies of domestication and foreignization.By enumerating translation examples,the translator explained the different translation methods adopted for different translation difficulties.The difficulty of this translation is how to choose an appropriate translation method and use it flexibly,so as to deal with the difficulties in the translation of special nouns,long sentences and poetry encountered in the translation of biographical tourism text.This report focuses on the selection of domestication and foreignization translation strategies in E-C translation of biographical tourism text.First,this article briefly summarizes the definition of domestication and foreignization and the current research review at home and abroad,and then the translator expounded the three main translation difficulties of the source text based on the biographical tourism text and adopts different translation strategies for different translation difficulties.The first is about the translation of special nouns in the source text.The translator adopted literal translation and transliteration.The second is about the translation of the long sentences in the source text.The translator adopted the method of cutting,splitting and reconstructing to translate long sentences with different structures.The translator’s thought is that the structure of long sentences is a measure of the translator’s choice of specific translation methods.Finally,aiming at the translation of poetry in the source text,the translator mainly used the foreignization strategy of literal translation and the domestication strategy of liberal translation.Through this translation project,the translator found that using domestication and foreignization strategies to guide the translation of tourism texts is an effective translation strategy.This article intended to take the translator’s translation of the biographical tourism text Emily Dickinson’s Gardening Life as an example to analyze and summarize the application of foreignization and domestication strategies in biographical tourism text translation. |
