| The trend of economic integration and globalization has become increasingly apparent since this century,and countries around the world have become more and more closely connected with each other.Enterprises in various countries are no longer limited to occupying their own markets,but have begun to seek opportunities for overseas development,and as a result,a number of companies providing overseas business services have emerged.At the same time,with the development of information technology and the rapid spread and application of the Internet,these companies have set up their own websites to promote their business abroad and build up their company image.And it should be noticed that the text of such overseas corporate websites is distinctive,with simple and professional words,flexible and varied sentences,and generally promotional style.Under the guidance of text typology theory,this report takes Mundo,an overseas business service website,as a case to explore the English-Chinese translation methods and strategies of this kind,hoping that its analysis and summary can provide some references for similar topics.The author first introduces the source,background and significance of this translation project.Next follows the translation process of the project,where characteristics of vocabulary,syntax and text are presented in detail.After that,case study begins,in which lexical,syntactic and textual analysis are carried out to explore the suitable translation techniques and strategies,such as communicative translation,semantic translation,foreignization,literal translation,sequence,variable translation,omission and so on.There is no doubt that communicative translation prioritizes over other strategies in our translation.Finally,the author makes a conclusion that text typology theory is applicable to the translation of business websites;semantic translation and communicative translation can be used to translate this type of texts from English to Chinese successfully.In the meantime,the limitations are mentioned directly,hoping that it can provide some significant references for other translators. |
