| This study mainly focuses on the effect of stress perception on adolescents’ problem smartphone use and the chain-based mediating effect of ruminant thinking and emotion regulation.A total of 514 students from two middle schools in Inner Mongolia and Hebei Province were selected as subjects and tested with the Chinese Version of the Stress Perception Scale,Smartphone Addiction Scale,Ruminant Thinking Scale and Emotion Regulation Scale.Research shows that:(1)There are gender differences in adolescent stress perception, with girls scoring higher than boys. There are grades differences in adolescents’ problem smartphone use,and the scores of the second and third graders of junior high school are significantly higher than those of the graders. There are grades differences in adolescent ruminant thinking, with scores in the second grade significantly higher than those of the first grade. There are grades differences in adolescent emotional regulation, and the scores in the third grade are significantly higher than those in the first and second grades.(2)Correlation analysis indicates that there is a significant positive correlation between stress perception, problematic smartphone use, ruminant thinking, and emotion regulation(Expression inhibition).(3)Stress perception can directly and positively predict problem smartphone use in adolescents.(4)Structural equation models show that ruminant thinking and emotion regulation(Expression inhibition)act as a chain mediator between stress perception and problematic smartphone use.The data collected in this study can be used to study the relationship between stress perception and problem smartphone use in adolescents.Meanwhile, the conclusions can provide empirical evidence for the relationship between stress perception and problem smartphone use,and support theoretically for adolescent mental health work. |
