| Oral English teaching and evaluation is an important part of English Teaching in senior high school.Improving the evaluation mode of oral English Teaching in senior high school and giving full play to the guiding and leading role of evaluation are of great significance to overcome the problems of emphasizing grammar teaching,neglecting oral English teaching,emphasizing examination ability and neglecting communicative ability,improve students’ oral ability,and promote the improvement of students’ overall English level and students’ all-round development.CIPP model is a relatively new teaching evaluation model,and its application in oral English teaching evaluation is rare.The model includes four basic steps:background evaluation,program evaluation,process evaluation and result evaluation.Based on the connotation of CIPP model and the characteristics of oral English Teaching in senior high school,this study analyzes the appropriateness of this model to the evaluation of oral English Teaching in senior high school,comprehensively analyzes the research content of oral English teaching evaluation in senior high school in China in recent years,and constructs four first-class indicators including teaching background,teaching scheme,teaching process and teaching achievement evaluation according to the new curriculum standard and around the content elements of CIPP model The evaluation index system of 12 secondary indicators and 44 tertiary indicators.On this basis,208 people from four classes in grade two of senior high school in area B are taken as oral English teaching evaluation cases.The questionnaire method is used to conduct a questionnaire survey on students,and the interview method is used to interview the senior high school English teachers,so as to analyze the problems existing in the application of teachers in the evaluation index system of oral English Teaching in senior high school.The study found that the existing problems are: the setting of teaching objectives is inconsistent with the evaluation of oral English teaching;The understanding and grasp of the new curriculum standard in the teaching scheme setting is not accurate enough;The cultivation of teachers’ professional evaluation ability needs to be improved in the teaching process;The guiding effect of teaching achievements on teachers and students is not obvious;The evaluation subject’s use of educational evaluation means is unscientific.According to the relevant theories and the analysis of the new curriculum standard,the strategies to improve the evaluation quality of oral English Teaching in senior high school by using CIPP model are as follows: clarify the evaluation of teaching objectives and stimulate students’ learning motivation;Improve the quality of teachers’ oral teaching evaluation;Improve teaching scheme design and teaching process evaluation;Pay attention to the main role of students’ learning;Students’ comprehensive development and evaluation;Pay attention to the construction of educational technology resources and improve the scientificity and effectiveness of oral English evaluation. |
