Southeast Asian countries not only have their own national cultural characteristics, but also have significant cultural commonalities. The translation and analysis of the common cultural texts in Southeast Asia is beneficial to the understanding and cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, and helps the construction of China’s "The Belt and Road Initiative" in Southeast Asia.Due to the lack of domestic studies on the translation of Thai cultraral texts, this report will analyze the translation of the book Shared Culture of Southeast Asia under the guidance of semantic translation and communicative translation in an effort to summarize the translation strategies for this type of text. This practice report is divided into five chapters. After analysis, the translation methods used at the lexical level under the guidance of semantic translation and communicative translation theory include: conventional usage translation, literal translation, transliteration, combination of sound and meaning, annotation and free translation.while at the sentence and paragraph level, linear translation, addition, the voice conversion method, the order adjustment method, the reconstruction method and the fusion method are used.Semantic translation and communicative translation should not be contradictory, but can be used comprehensively according to the characteristics of readers and text types,so that the translation can not only accurately reproduce the meaning of the source language, but also accurately convey the communicative information of the original text.
