The Practice Of Woodcut Language In The Design Of Zodiac Theme Illustration

Zodiac culture has been loved by the public since ancient times,and there are many excellent cases in print art and illustration design works.The research on zodiac culture is also the material that the author focuses on during his postgraduate study,so I will choose this theme for my graduation project and create it with the technique of woodcut prints.Woodcut engraving has a unique "imprint" and "knife taste".Integrating woodcut engraving language into zodiac theme illustration creation can not only rely on the cultural value of the zodiac to enhance the commercial value of illustration design,but also better inherit the excellent artistic expression form of engraving.At the same time,it also implants the connotation of The Times for the zodiac culture,provides diversified creativity for the illustration design,and meets the needs of The Times for higher aesthetics.This paper will start from the woodcut art and illustration design.Firstly,it will study the history of Chinese woodcut art,then sort out the expression forms of woodcut art language,and then explore the development trend and application forms of Illustration design in China,so as to find the correlation between woodcut art language and illustration design.Then discuss the method of engraving in illustration design;Then through the analysis of the zodiac illustrations created by printmaking technique,feel the charm of the printmaking language into the illustration design;Finally,guided by theory and practice,with the current popular Chinese fashion style as the design direction,complete the design and creation of zodiac theme illustrations,and on this basis,integrate zodiac illustrations into the design and application of cultural and creative products.As a very important branch of art design,illustration design has unlimited commercial value potential.Modern illustration design mostly uses computer production,the pursuit of fast-paced form,in the picture texture and decorative sense are lacking,and these are the advantages of woodcut form.Therefore,the author wants to explore a better integration of woodcut engraving and illustration.
