Shanghai Writing In Shi Zhecun’s Novels

Shanghai Writing refers to the use of Shanghai as a narrative space in literary works to show the urban landscape of Shanghai,people’s way of life and living conditions,as well as the writer’s emotional attitude and value judgment towards the city reflected in the writing process.As one of the representatives of the New Sensation School,Shi Zhecun’s Shanghai writing provides us with the experience of studying Shanghai’s urban writing in the 1930 s.This paper aims to show the daily life of modern Shanghai in Shi Zhecun’s novels,and to reveal its value and significance in the process of Shanghai’s modernization.The first chapter focuses on the importance of Shanghai writing in the history of modern literature and the influence of Shanghai on Shi Zhecun’s creation.The second chapter focuses on the spatial imagination of Shanghai in Shi Zhecun’s novels,analyzing the public space and private space in the novels,pointing out the specific spatial imagination and its presentation in Shi Zhecun’s novels in the 1920 s and 1930 s,and comparing it with the spatial imagination of Shanghai in the works of other writers of the New Sensation School.Found in Shi Zhecun novel space imagination of the uniqueness and its causes.The third chapter starts with the analysis of the Shanghai characters in Shi Zhecun’s novels,analyzes the influence of modern capitalist civilization on the material and spiritual aspects of urban people after the invasion of Shanghai,and explores the survival dilemma of urban people.The fourth chapter explores the characteristics of Shi Zhecun’s Shanghai writing,through the ordinary trivial daily life in the civilian world,to analyze the value of Shi Zhecun’s Shanghai writing based on daily life experience.To sum up,through the analysis of Shanghai writing in Shi Zhecun’s novels from multiple perspectives,we can see the unique significance of Shanghai writing in Shi Zhecun’s novels.
