| Gibran Khalil Gibran(1883-1931)is a talented poet and painter in Lebanon in the 20 th century, the leader of the “American School”,and the founder of modern Arab novels and prose poetry. He always pays attention to the “self” in his creation, constantly mentions relevant images such as “self”,“God self” and“the greater self” in his works, and takes the “self” as a unique externalized existence,so as to make an objective analysis and reflection, indicating that the writing of “self” occupies an important position in Gibran’s works. With the maturity of the author’s self philosophy, the “self” in his works shows a dynamic change process. The “self” exploration is not only in line with Gibran’s core of paying attention to people and exploring human nature, but also shows his constantly developing “self” concept. The paper is divided into three parts. The first part combs the connotation of“self” in different periods of Gibran’s works, divides the phased presentation of self exploration into three stages: the exposure period of self-consciousness,the confused period of “self” exploration and the mature period of “self”construction, and gradually studies Gibran’s in-depth interpretation of “self”.The second chapter expounds the main factors of the formation of Gibran’s self thought, explores the factors of the formation of self-consciousness combined with the author’s time background and growth experience, and analyzes the promotion of Gibran’s self thought by Nietzsche,a philosopher, and the influence of multicultural and religious factors on the formation of the author’s“self” thought. The third chapter analyzes the value significance of Gibran’s unique “self” thought to the present.Gibran calls on people to return to the embrace of mother nature, pay attention to the spiritual world, enlighten the fate connection between individuals, and encourage people to constantly explore themselves under the original heart of “love and beauty”. |
