Feng Shan is a native of Anyue,Puzhou,his courtesy name is Yunnan.He is a successful candidate in the highest imperial examination in 1057.He lived in the middle of the Northern Song Dynasty.After became the successful candidate,he returned to his hometown,Sichuan,to be an official.Since then,he has been serving at Bashu area until 1093,and entered into the capital as a section chief of the Ministry of Rites in feudal China.Feng Shan was one of the more important literati at Bashu area in the middle of the Northern Song Dynasty.His poetry creation was rich in materials and characterized by the style of Song Dynasty.Although he was not well-known,there were many excellent poetry.In order to make a clear and objective analysis and evaluation of Feng Shan’s poetry creation,this article takes Feng Shan’s existing poetry as the main research object,and discusses the poetry theme,the spiritual pursuit,the artistic characteristics,limitations and influence embodied in his poetry.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,this article is mainly divided into four chapters:The first chapter classifies the theme content of Feng Shan’s poems and divides them into four categories,namely reward poems,landscape poems,reasoning poems and leisure poems.These poems with different themes show Feng Shan’s life picture,with rich meanings and endless charm.The second chapter is the spiritual pursuit in Feng Shan’s poems.According to the specific content of his poems,it is analyzed and divided into three parts: the spirit of the scroll,the heart of helping the world and the style of immortality and Taoists.The third chapter explores the artistic characteristics of Feng Shan’s poetry,which are mainly divided into two parts: creative techniques and artistic styles.In terms of creative techniques,first of all,Feng Shan’s poems are good at using words,and the word "Qing"(clear and pure)is used very frequently;secondly,Feng Shan quotes more sentences from predecessor’s poem or ancient accidents in his poems,and the angle of the literary quotation is novel;finally,Feng Shan’s poems have the characteristics of a combination of metrical poems and ancient style poems.In addition,Feng Shan’s poems also have two artistic styles:the rational style and the elegant and natural style.The fourth chapter not only affirms the excellence of Feng Shan’s poetry,and mainly explores the limitations and influence of Feng Shan’s works from another perspective.In terms of limitations,first of all,Feng Shan’s poems are misused;secondly,Feng Shan sometimes favors the practicality of poetry and ignores its artistic value;finally,some reference words in Feng Shan’s poetry are often repeated,which seems monotonous to read,and also reflects his insufficient ability to write poetry.To sum up,Feng Shan and his poems were not outstanding in the long river of ancient literature until the Qing Dynasty.Because of the rise of the wind of respect the literature of Song Dynasty,Feng Shan’s poetry has gradually attracted the attention of some literati,but the overall impact on future generations was not great.
