At the end of 19 th century,William-Adolphe Bouguereau（1825-1905）was one of the most influential academism painter.Bouguereau was reputable while he was alive.His works were collected by collectors from domestically to internationally.In his works,Bouguereau has always created traditional Western art since the Renaissance.He caught the essence of masterpiece,and absorbed the key to impressionist light and color to enrich his paintings.Moreover,he devoted himself to creating amazing works.Through the plenty of artistic creation,he formed his own classical and beautiful painting style.However,but after his death Bouguereau was viciously vilified and quickly fell from the artistic pedestal.It was not until the 1970 s that art historians used objective and righteous attitude to review the past history and gave it its rightful status.This dissertation explores Bouguereau’s art painting style from his works and experience so as to gain more inspiration and the appreciation of beauty.Nowadays,some people think that Bouguereau’s works are empty,flashy and meaningless.Therefore,in any case,his works and name are left in history,everyone should view his works and painting style objectively through a tolerant attitude.The thesis is divided into four chapters.Firstly,it has a brief introduction to the research purposes,research status,research significance as well as the content and methodology.Secondly analyzes the reasons for the formation of Bouguereau’s painting style,mainly from the social artistic background and Bouguereau’s own artistic experience to discuss.Then,this essay shows the concrete expression of Bouguereau’s painting style combined with his paintings.Finally,it is the influence of Bouguereau’s painting art on contemporary artists and the works that the author usually creates and the process and experience of graduation creation.
