On Fang Zengxian’s Ink Figure Painting And Its Inspiration To The Author’s Creation

Chinese figure painting has developed over thousands of years,and today this genre has been given new meaning and a new sense of form by the development of the times.He made a great contribution to the teaching of Chinese figure painting by analysing and studying Western painting while preserving the aesthetic form of traditional Chinese ink and brush painting,summarising a set of modelling methods suitable for the expression of modern figure subjects,and relying on these methods to create many vivid figures that express the hot reality of life.It will also help the author to improve his creative techniques and forms in the future.The first part outlines the background to Fang Zengxian’s character art style,and describes the formation of his ink and character painting style from his upbringing,his schooling experience and the inspiration he received from the great painters.The second part discusses the innovation and development of Fang Zengxian’s modelling language and ink and brush language,firstly by combining the modelling of ink and wash figure painting with structural sketching,which is a combination of Western painting techniques and traditional figure painting techniques to solve the modelling problem of ink and wash figure painting in China,and secondly by applying the method of ink accumulation in landscape painting to the expression of ink and wash figure painting,which also opens up a new path for this subject matter painting.Finally,the exaggerated distortion of the ink figure painting,mainly based on the artist’s subjective ideas,is followed by a transformation of the figure,while this chapter also demonstrates the success of this improvement in painting through a large number of works.The third section outlines Fang Zengxian’s contribution to the creation and teaching of Chinese ink figure painting,as some of his educational theories and achievements have influenced many artists and continue to be used today,so the study also has profound educational significance.The final section is devoted to the author’s inspiration and creation of his own ink and wash paintings,mainly in terms of form,brushwork and ink,and aesthetic mood,discussing the ideas and techniques extracted from Fang Zengxian’s paintings.
