A Report On The E-C Translation Of The Original Australians （Chapter 7）

The Report is based on the translation practice of the work The Original Australians（Chapter 7）which describes the social conditions of Australia before the 1970 s from the perspectives of humanity,economy and politics.This chapter mainly depicts the living habits of Australian aborigines and the social conditions of Australia.The history of Australia,distinctive and unique,is valuable in the research of Australian affairs.This translation report consists of four chapters.Chapter one is a description of the translation project.The second chapter introduces the preparation,implementation and proofreading of the translation project.The third chapter mainly analyzes the difficulties encountered during the translation process.It includes the translation methods of transliteration,diction,and extension in dealing with the difficulties in translating words,splitting,ellipsis and addition in long sentences,and the methods of substitution,reference and reiteration in handling the discourse cohesion of the source text.The fourth chapter is a summary of the experience gained in the practice and puts forward suggestions for the future translation practice.
