| Throughout the history of the ethnic minorities in northern China,the Khitan and Jurchen ethnic groups once had unique historical and cultural characteristics.Due to the political factors of the Liao and Jin rulers and the intervention of religious culture,the religious art of the Liao and Jin period was very prosperous,and influenced the painting,sculpture,architecture and many other aspects at that time.The Buddhist art of the Liao and Jin period is reflected in three periods: in the early stage,the Buddhist statue art was influenced by the Buddhist art of the Tang and Song dynasties,with plump,strong and extensive style;in the middle stage,the art has reached the peak of this period.Due to the “secularization” of religion,the performance of Buddhist statues began to tend to the natural and realistic features;in the late period,Buddhism gradually went to a low tide,and the large Buddhist statues began to decrease and lost their former style.Through this paper,the author aims to interpret the artistic style and artistic value of Buddhist statues in Liao and Jin period from the perspective of fine arts.Taking the art of sculpture in fine arts as the base plate,the Buddhist statues in the Liao and Jin dynasties were sorted out and classified,and their shapes,techniques,color application and decoration were analyzed and studied one by one.The whole text is divided into three parts: the first part describes the introduction and influence of Liao and Jin Buddhism and the second part analyzes the art of the Buddhist statues of the period into color sculptures and relief,and analyzes two forms of Buddha,Bodhisattva,King and Arhat;In the third part,the Buddhist statues in the Liao and Jin dynasties are compared with the Buddhist statues in the Tang and Song Dynasties,and the inheritance relationship between the Liao and Jin dynasties and the Buddhist statues is obtained from the artistic characteristics. |
