A C-E Translation Practice Report On Subtitles Of China In Classics （Excerpt） Based On Eco-translatology

China in Classics is a variety show aimed at spreading excellent Chinese traditional culture.And there is no English subtitle for this program.This report uses theories related to eco-translatology to guide the subtitle translation of the first episode and the second episode,which is to seek the integration of eco-translatology and the subtitle translation,expand the audience of the programme and spread the excellent Chinese traditional culture.Because of the unique textual characteristics and complex ecological environment of subtitle texts,this practice mainly applies the theory of three-dimensional transformation in eco-translatology.And this practice makes adaptations and selections between the source eco-environment and the targeted eco-environment from the linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions to maintain the eco-balance.In the linguistic dimension,this report mainly analyzes some cases at lexical level and syntactic level.In the cultural dimension,this report concentrates on Chinese verses,allusions,and culture-loaded words through foreignization and domestication,and this report also studies the complementation of foreignization and domestication in the translation.In the communicative dimension,this report analyzes the importance of transmitting communicative intentions,and three characteristics of subtitled information,such as integrity,progressiveness,and popularity.This practice transplants China in Classics into the English eco-environment,which shows that the theory of eco-translatology can be integrated with the subtitle translation.In the process of translation,three-dimensional transformation can be applied specifically,which can make English subtitles realize multiple functions of communication across language,culture and society.Additionally,this practice validates the scientificity and practicality of using eco-translatology to guide the subtitle translation.
