Director Exposition Of The Documentary “Imprinting Of Jiangnan”

It is the responsibility and obligation of every media person to tell Chinese stories well and convey the craftsman spirit so that more young people can become the disseminator of intangible cultural heritage.The author spent nearly a year tracking the story of Wu Yuanxin,the inheritor of blue calico,his daughter Wu Lingshu and his son-in-law Ni Shenjian.They are willing to dull,silent dedication,in the rescue,protection,inheritance,development of the ancient handicrafts on the road of perseverance,forge ahead.The author decided to name the documentary "Traces of Jiangnan" to pay tribute to the writers and artists who protected the intangible cultural heritage.Nantong blue calico cloth printing and dyeing technique skill as an ancient handicraft spread for thousands of years,it is also the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage.Nantong blue calico cloth printing and dyeing technique uses pure manual method to make articles for daily use.The printing and dyeing patterns are mainly plants,flowers and animals,which express people’s yearning for a better life.Blue calico has become one of the most representative traditional handicrafts.At present,the number of people engaged in blue printing and dyeing decreased year by year.Some blue calico have been changed to automatic or semi-automatic production,the traditional process gradually changed.The film focuses on the hero’s life experience and working environment to protect and create blue calico and products.The main purpose of the creation is to record the efforts made by the hero in protecting intangible cultural heritage in a richer and more comprehensive way by using modern photographic means on the basis of predecessors.Secondly,it calls on young people to pay attention to the precious intangible cultural heritage and strive to be the communicator of intangible cultural heritage.This paper is the author’s interpretation of the whole creation process of the graduation design "Traces of Jiangnan",including introduction,preliminary planning,mid-term shooting,post-editing and creative understanding.
