A Study On Traditional Knowledge Related To The Biodiversity Of Xinjiang Uyghur People

Traditional knowledge related to biodiversity is the crystallization of wisdom created and accumulated by people of all ethnic groups in our country in thousands of years of production and living practices.It can not only provide a guarantee and a source of experience for the survival and development of this nation,but also has positive significance for the protection of biodiversity and the sustainable use of biological resources in ethnic areas in China.However,due to various factors such as the full penetration of modern civilization and the insufficient attention of the ethnic communities themselves,the traditional knowledge that has been passed down for thousands of years in our country has been lost seriously,and the collection and rescue of traditional knowledge needs to be completed urgently.The Uyghur people has a long history and a large population,and possesses a wealth of traditional knowledge about the utilization of biological resources,which is related to various aspects of national development such as agricultural production,social economy,medicine and health,and cultural customs.Collecting,investigating and cataloging Uyghur traditional knowledge is of great benefit to protecting China's biodiversity and ethnic cultural diversity and accelerating the sustainable development of ethnic regions.This study aims to:based on ecology and ethnic ecology research methods,using literature research,field surveys,questionnaire surveys,key person interviews and other methods,collect,sort and catalog Uyghur biodiversity-related traditional knowledge to establish Uyghur biodiversity-related Documented database of traditional knowledge;Analyze the characteristics of Uyghur traditional knowledge to clarify the significance of traditional knowledge and ethnic culture to the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity;Taking Uyghur traditional medicine as a case study,it explores the status quo,existing problems,and threatened factors of Uyghur traditional knowledge,provides basic data support for decision-making departments related to biological protection,and promotes the realization of modern intellectual property protection and acquisition and benefit sharing of traditional knowledge.The main research results of this paper are as follows:1.Based on literature survey and field research,this research compiled a total of 856 Uyghur biodiversity-related traditional knowledge entries.The number of knowledge items related to traditional breeding agricultural genetic resources is 457(54%),traditional medicine knowledge is 231(27%),traditional technology and production and lifestyle related knowledge are 59(7%),and traditional culture related knowledge is 36 items.(4%)and 67(8%)related knowledge of traditional biogeographic indication products.2.Analyze the characteristics of traditional knowledge on the basis of entry work,analyze the process of formation,utilization,development and inheritance of traditional knowledge related to Uyghur biodiversity,and the characteristics of local natural geography and resources,ethnic cultural characteristics,and economic utilization characteristics The close relationship between traditional knowledge and social characteristics,and the use of investigation cases to demonstrate this complementary relationship will help to better understand the formation characteristics and context of traditional knowledge.3.Case studies of Uyghur traditional medicine in Hotan,Turpan,and Yining found that different ethnic communities have different applications and cognitions of Uyghur traditional medicine knowledge,and the use and cognition of Uyghur traditional medicine is still limited to their own nationalities;Multi-ethnic co-living,cultural fusion and urbanization are a double-edged sword for traditional medicine.While it has an impact on the inheritance of traditional medicine,it can also help traditional medicine break through its shackles.The future development of Uyghur medicine should start from two aspects,on the one hand,the nation should enhance its cultural self-confidence,continuously strengthen its own assiduous research,and promote the scientific research and innovation of traditional medicine;On the other hand,it is necessary to strengthen publicity and promotion,so that more people can appreciate the charm and cultural connotation of Uyghur traditional medicine.4.Combining the actual situation and results of the research,propose the inheritance strategy of Uyghur traditional knowledge,including that relevant policies and regulations are sound,and legal means are used to protect traditional knowledge from infringement;Take engineering measures to protect and preserve traditional knowledge with technical means;Strengthen research and promotion of traditional knowledge to boost economic development and people's health;Enhanced propaganda,strengthen cultural self-confidence,and focus on community participation in the protection and benefit sharing of traditional knowledge.
