Objective:By observing and comparing the effects of the Zanthoxylum-made oil for acute injury on the pain and swelling on Colles fractures(Cooney I type,Cooney II type,Cooney III type)after the reset of small splints technique to prove its clinical effectiveness and provide a reliable and scientific basis for the clinical application and popularization of the Zanthoxylum-made oil for acute injury in the future. Methods:Selected patients from Sichuan Provincial Orthopedic Hospital who were scheduled to undergo manual reduction and fixation of Colles fractures from April 25,2020 to February 11,2021,and 66 cases met the inclusion criteria. The "random number table" method was used to randomly divide the patients according to the order of admission. For the test group and the control group, the test group was partially wound with gauze soaked with the Zanthoxylum-made oil for acute injury, and the control group was partially coated with the Compound sodium aescinate gel, then fixed both group with small splints.Observing and recording VAS scores of pain, tenderness score, swelling score, ecchymosis score of the two groups of patients before treatment, the 1st day after treatment, the 4th day after treatment, the 7th day after treatment and at the end of the trial cycle in accordance with the corresponding standards for the Overall curative effect evaluation, analysing the above data with medical statistics software statistical to clarify the clinical effectiveness of the Zanthoxylum-made oil for acute injury.Results:(1)VAS scores of pain: The comparison between groups showed that there was no significant difference in VAS scores of pain between the two groups on the 1st day after treatment(P>0.05);on the 4th day after treatment, the VAS scores of pain in the two groups were significantly different(P<0.01);on the 7th day after treatment, the VAS scores of pain in the two groups were significantly different(P<0.05).Comparison within the group showed that there was a significant difference in VAS scores between the two groups on the 1st day after treatment and before treatment, the 4th day and the1 st day after treatment, the 7th day and the 4th day after treatment(P<0.01).(2)Tenderness score: There was no significant difference in tenderness score between the two groups on the 1st day,the 4th day and the 7th day after treatment(P>0.05).Comparison within the group found that the test group on the 1st day after treatment and before treatment, the 4th day and the 1st day after treatment, the 7th day and 4th day after treatment of tenderness score difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).There was significant difference in tenderness scores between the control group on the1 st day after treatment and before treatment, the 4th day and the 1st day after treatment, the 7th day and the 4th day after treatment(P<0.01).(3)Swelling score: There was no significant difference in swelling score between the two groups on the 1st day after treatment(P>0.05);on the 4th and 7th day after treatment, the difference in swelling score between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.01).Comparison within the group found that there was no significant difference in swelling score on the 1st day after treatment and before treatment in the test group(P>0.05);the difference in swelling score on the 4th day and the 1st day after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.01);there was no significant difference in swelling score on the 7th day and the 4th day after treatment(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in swelling score between the control group on the 1st day after treatment and before treatment,on the 4th day and 1st day after treatment(P>0.05);there was significant difference in swelling score on the 7th day and 4th day after treatment(P<0.01).(4)Ecchymosis score: The comparison between groups showed that there was no significant difference in the ecchymosis score between the two groups on the 1st day after treatment(P>0.05);there was significant difference in ecchymosis score between the two groups on the 4th day after treatment(P<0.05);there was significant difference in ecchymosis score between the two groups on the 7th day after treatment(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in ecchymosis score between the 1st day after treatment and before treatment in the test group(P>0.05);there were significant differences in ecchymosis scores between the 4th day and 1st day,the 7th day and 4th day after treatment(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in ecchymosis score between the control group on the 1st day after treatment and before treatment, the 4th day and 1st day after treatment(P>0.05);the ecchymosis score on the 7th day after treatment were significantly different from that on the 4th day after treatment(P<0.01).(5)Overall curative effect evaluation: The comparison between groups found that there was no statistically significant difference in overall curative effect between the test group and the control group after 7 days(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1)The overall curative effect of the Zanthoxylum-made oil for acute injury and Compound sodium aescinate gel on the pain and swelling after reduction and fixation of Colles’ fracture is equivalent.(2)The Zanthoxylum-made oil for acute injury is better than Compound sodium aescinate gel in reducing pain, local swelling and ecchymosis after reduction and fixation of Colles fracture in a short time.
