An Investigation Of Foucault's Concept Of "body Experience"

Experience of body is an important concept in Foucault's philosophy.In the philosophical tradition of focusing on the soul and consciousness,the body and the experience it produces have been neglected.Foucault refused to accept this philosophical tradition,and under the influence of Nietzsche's will to power and genealogy thought,he used a lot of individual(body)experiences in his own theory about the individual body as the starting point.For Foucault,experience of body is not only a variety of strategies that power imposes on the body,but also a self-technology of individual autonomous practice.Through the concept of experience of body,Foucault established his own genealogy of power and genealogy of ethics,rebelled against the tradition of consciousness philosophy,and developed the theory of body philosophy.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part is the background of Foucault's philosophy.The formation of Foucault's philosophy and his attention to physical experience is all based on the corresponding era and ideological background.The second and third parts are the construction of the concept of experience of body based on Foucault 's text.The second part starts with Foucault's genealogy of power and explains how modern body is shaped and how the experience of body is formed through the strategies of power to body.The third part,based on Foucault's own research,further explains the concept of experience of body.In order to fight against the modern power,Foucault went back to the ancient times.Through the investigation of experience of body from ancient Greece to Christianity,he showed experience of body,body concept and subjectivization process different from the modern times,and regarded this experience of body as a kind of self-technique,that is,the self forms the experience and forms the subject through the body practice.The fourth part are the value and defect of Foucault's concept of experience of body.The study of the concept of experience of body is the embodiment of Foucault's idea of subjectivity,and his body philosophy also has a certain influence.
