This report is based on the English to Chinese translation text of Gameful Second and Foreign Language Teaching and Learning: Theory,Research,and Practice(Chapter 5)by Professor Jonathon S.Reinhardt of the University of Arizona.This book was published by Pargrave Macmillan in 2019.This report is inclined to explore the choices of translation strategies of the text of educational technology,aiming at finding the guidance effect of translation strategies on practical translation.This report studies the translation strategy from the word,sentence and texts.For the word translation,the author uses deduction,extension and explanatory translation to analyze the translation difficulties in detail;from the perspective of sentences,with the guidance of Huang Zhonglian's Variation Theory,the addition method and the trans-editing method are used to translate sentences in an effort to make the translation smoother and more understandable;reductive pronoun method and logic explicitness method are used to make the translation more logical at the textual level.The purpose of this translation practice is to discover and solve the common problems in English-Chinese translation of educational technology texts,and to provide reference for the same texts.
