| As an efficient tool for language learning, dictionaries have a great heritage and are of great importance as a documentary material for historical research, linguistic research and sinology research. In this paper,we choose the word " 都",which contains multiple meanings, multiple sexes and multiple sounds,as a specific object of study.Based on its inclusion in more than twenty dictionaries covered in this paper,we analyze the meaning of the word and its arrangement, and discuss inspirations and suggestions for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The first chapter introduces the features and general situation of the dictionaries covered in this paper, and analyzes the inclusion of the word "都" in each dictionary. In the second chapter,we analyze the examples of the word " 都 " in the Chinese-English dictionaries of Westerners, classify the examples into examples of words and examples of phrases, and make a comparative analysis of the English translation of the word "都" in the Western dictionaries.Chapter 3analyzes the arrangement of the word " 都 " in modern extroverted Chinese dictionaries and compares it with Western dictionaries, and further suggests the arrangement of contemporary extroverted Chinese dictionaries by combining the analysis of the first two chapters. The Western dictionaries of the late Qing and Republican periods,as a kind of learning dictionary, were able to be more relevant to the needs of Chinese learners because they were written by non-native speakers of Chinese.Modern Chinese learning dictionaries written by native Chinese speakers may not be able to accurately predict the difficulties of learners in the learning process, while the dictionaries written by Westerners can provide some reference values for the compilation of modern Chinese learning dictionaries in China because their writers are also learners. |
