The jade ceremony is the abbreviation for the ceremony of using jade. The pre-Qin jade ceremony is mainly recorded and preserved in the "three rites".Compared with the clear styles of Ceremonial Etiquette,The Rites of Zhou, and The Book of Rites, although they are miscellaneous, their aesthetic interpretation of the use of jade is more comprehensive and richer than that of The Rites of Zhou and Ceremonial Etiquette. The thesis takes the text of The Book of Rites as its core, and is corroborated with other ancient documents and archaeological studies.Through textual research and sorting out the rituals of using jade in The Book of Rites,it explores and presents the rituals of The Book of Rites. The aesthetic culture of jade rituals that understands the world and cultivates personality with jade. The first chapter of the thesis expands the overall understanding of the jade ceremony in The Book of Rites from both vertical and horizontal aspects.Vertically, combined with archaeological research, the thesis explores the cultural process of how jade enters rituals and becomes an essential element in rituals, and explains the etiquette system that governs the use of jade rituals; The examination and reading of the jade chapters sorted out and summarized the jade for sacrifice, funeral, jade for court appointment, and jade for meeting ceremonies. The four points to the overall harmonious structure of belief culture, political culture, and personality culture. The second chapter of the thesis enters from the culture of pre-Qin witches as jade gods, and through the grasp of the core concept of "spirit",clarifies that the unity of spirit, spirit and god in jade satisfies the "unity of heaven and man" recorded in The Book of Rites Secondly, through the analysis of the sacrificial ceremonies and funeral jade as represented by Gui,Zhang and Bi recorded in The Book of Rites,it is discussed that the jade should be "Qi" and the jade should be "Xiang" in the jade ceremony. The jade ceremony represents the aesthetic culture of the same structure of nature and man.The third chapter of the thesis is based on the people of Zhou Dynasty’s discovery of“virtue”,discusses the aesthetic and cultural associations of heaven, virtue, and jade in rituals since the Zhou Dynasty, and uses this as the gentleman of the rite of admiring jade in The Book of Rites Based on the traditional concept of morality;secondly, based on the musical description of the rites of gentleman adoring jade in The Book of Rites, combined with the relevant expositions of "rituals" and "music" in the text of The Book of Rites,it is demonstrated that the rituals of adoring jade are rich The behavioral procedure of the sense of happiness is to internalize the external "rituals" into the "virtue" of the gentleman and the "music" of the gentleman,so as to cultivate and achieve the personality of the gentleman who is happy to express rituals. This jade ceremony that cultivates benevolence and virtue with jade demonstrates and practices the Confucian aesthetic and cultural ideal of "music" for adults.
