The common formal elements of music are rhythm, harmony, mode, timbre, and so on.Rhythm element is also known as "the bone of music".In this study, this important element of rhythm is mainly discussed in depth.Rhythm elements not only in the music art,in nature and human and social activities, there is rhythm.Regular,time-dimensionally,a rhythmic change, also known as rhythm. As a rhythm instrument, percussion plays an important role in the song. The rhythm type of percussion instrument often determines the speed and emotional direction of the whole song.In the past, there have been many researches on the rhythm of music, but few researches on the induction and experience of musical emotion by percussion instruments. As rhythmic instruments, percussion instruments exist to strengthen the influence of rhythmic elements in music on people. To play percussion well, one must first understand the relationship between rhythm and music. The control of rhythm, solid basic skills, rich stage experience, the familiarity of the work and other factors will affect the performance of percussion music.Studies have shown that failure to adjust emotions will have a negative impact on the learning and performance of percussion music. In the process of percussion learning and performance, the emotional state directly affects the performance of the musicians, and a good adjustment of psychological mood will improve this phenomenon. However, few studies involved the analysis of the influence of different rhythms on emotional experience. This topic focuses on the impact of different rhythm of percussion instrument in songs on emotional experience.Rhythm and beat play a very important role in the application of music performance. They belong to two different concepts, but in actual music works, they are closely related. This research can show the performance effect of the music performers to the greatest extent and effectively arouse the resonance of the audience and listeners.Through the study of the influence of the rhythm of the percussion instrument in the works on the emotion to some extent, people can understand the emotional influence of the rhythm on the listeners more objectively. The purpose of this study is whether the listeners can adjust their negative emotions after being aroused through the works of percussion instruments with obvious features,or even better express the emotions the composer wants to express in the creation of music. This thesis has a preliminary experiment and two formal experiments to discuss. The pre-experiment screened out the audio materials to be used in the formal experiment.Previous studies have proved that people will have a strong emotional experience of music in the process of appreciating music, and different types of rhythm will make the subjects have different emotional experience. In order to eliminate the influence of lyrics on the emotional experience of the subjects, all the musical materials of the pre-experiment were purely instrumental works without lyrics.Distinguish emotions only according to the type of rhythm.Experiment one explores the songs in the case of presence of percussion instruments in music and the music professional students in emotional recognition, and the impact of emotional intensity, the second is to explore the same excitement songs cases, control the number of section, rhythm is the same, only change the tempo and stress position,in the form of a drum solo show emotion recognition of music and the music professional students. This study includes a preliminary experiment and two formal experiments. The purpose of the preliminary experiment is to select the audio materials needed for the formal experiment, and to select the music fragments of excitement, tension and sadness that can be formally applied to the experiment.Previous studies have proved that people will have a strong emotional experience of music in the process of appreciating music, and different types of rhythm will make the subjects have different emotional experience. In order to eliminate the influence of lyrics on the emotional experience of the subjects, all the musical materials in this experiment were purely instrumental works without lyrics.Distinguish emotions only according to the type of rhythm.Finally,3pieces of exciting, tense, and sad music fragments were selected.Experiment 1 explored the influence of percussion part or no percussion part on emotion recognition and experience of music and non-music majors. The independent variable is the experimental design between the two factors of using orchezier type 2(whether there is a percussion orchezier: there is a percussion orchezier,no percussion orchezier)×2(whether there is a music major: music major students,non-music major students),and the music fragments selected in the pre-experiment are selected. The subjects rated emotional type and emotional experience intensity while listening to the same rhythmic music with or without percussion instruments. To explore the influence of music with or without percussion instrument on emotion recognition of college students and the difference between music majors and non-majors.In Experiment 2,a two-factor experiment design with rhythm type 2(drum solo in3/4 beat, drum solo in 4/4 beat)×2(music major or not: music major students,non-music major students)was adopted to select the music fragments selected in the pre-experiment.The subjects rated emotional type and emotional experience intensity while listening to the same rhythmic music with or without percussion instruments. To explore the difference between 3/4 beat and 4/4 beat percussion solos on emotion recognition of college students and the difference between music majors and non-majors.The conclusions of this study are as follows:Whether the percussion part is involved or not can influence the emotion recognition and intensity experience of the listeners.Music major listeners generally experienced higher levels of emotional intensity than non-music major listeners.2.Percussion can effectively regulate the negative emotions of listeners.3.There is no significant gender difference in the impact of percussion music on listeners’ emotions.4.The percussion solo in 4/4 beat can induce the listener’s positive emotions, while the percussion solo in 3/4 beat can induce the listener’s negative emotions.
