The Trombone Sonata is a musical work for trombone and piano by the modern German composer Paul Hendemith. The sonata covers many variations on the technique, timbre, and rhythmic patterns of the trombone. In this paper, the text of the piece and the performance analysis of Hendemith's Trombone Sonata are discussed.Starting from the composer's style and the background of the work, the author analyzes the composition and performance techniques of the score through some of the difficulties summarized in regular practice and concert performance practice, and also considers the relationship between trombone and piano. In addition to the musical elements of the piece, the relationship between the trombone and the piano is also unique and requires a high level of tacit understanding between the trombonist and the piano player.Through the analysis of this piece,we hope to help more trombonists to understand the style of Paul Hendemith's "Trombone Sonata" and the techniques needed to play it,and to play it better.
