In recent years, the school system of Tibetan classes(schools)in the inland of China has gradually developed and matured, and more and more Tibetan students come to study and live in the inland. But because the mainland has a great deal of difference between culture and Tibetan culture,Tibetan students cannot well adapt to the social culture in the mainland. In recent years, with the development of network technology, social media has emerged as the main communication tool for people. The characteristics of social media, such as openness, immediacy, connectivity and interactivity, make it very conducive to the communication and communication between cultures, and this new media is widely pursued by young people. The extensive application of social media in the society has provided important support for the social and cultural adaptation of Tibetan students. Therefore, the purpose of this study is mainly to discuss and analyze the relationship between social media and social and cultural adaptation by taking the special group of high school students from Tibetan classes(schools)in the inland as a sample,so as to provide a new way for Tibetan students to adapt to the social and cultural environment in the inland and facilitate their better and faster integration into the study and life in the inland on the basis of verifying and improving the existing research conclusions. The research content is divided into six parts:first, through the literature analysis method to analyze the research conclusions in the relevant literature, analyze the shortcomings of the research conclusions,so as to put forward the hypothesis;Secondly, through questionnaire investigation and the analysis of SPSS statistical software to collect data, infer the inland Tibetan classes(school)of high school students use social media and social cultural adaptation, verify the demographic variable factors at the individual social cultural adaptation process whether there is a difference of inspection;Third, further explore and analyze the correlation between social media and sociocultural adaptation.Fourth, using relevant theoretical knowledge to discuss and analyze the reasons for the presentation of research results;Fifth, based on the research results, the paper proposes measures to improve the social and cultural adaptability of high school students in Inland Tibetan classes. At last, the deficiencies in the research process are analyzed and the future research direction is proposed.Through research and analysis, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Inland Tibetan classes(school)high school students own developmental characteristics affected individuals using motivation of selective preference for social media and cognitive features of individual also directly determine the truth of social media content identification ability.(2)The use of social media has a significant positive impact on social acculturation and the three dimensions of social acculturation.Among the three dimensions of acculturation, the use of social media has the largest positive impact on interpersonal adaptation, with a regression coefficient of 0.912.(3)The "mimicry environment" constructed by media tends to be more and more realistic and objective.Students in Tibetan classes(schools)in the mainland can adapt to the study and life in the mainland in advance through the mimicry environment, but at the same time, the negative effects brought by mimicry environment should also be avoided.(4)The social acculturation of high school students in Tibetan classes(schools)in the mainland is good, but in the process of acculturation, they generally face the dilemma of interpersonal acculturation. There were significant differences between the sample groups in gender, hometown and age.(5)The knowledge gap theory reasonably explains the significant difference in individual learning adaptation of the demographic variable of hometown location, that is,students from urban areas have more media information resources than students from rural areas, thus showing stronger adaptability in learning. On this basis,it is proposed that the school should improve the media literacy ability of students in Tibetan classes(schools)from three aspects:the construction of curriculum system, the construction of teaching staff and the cultivation of self-education ability,so as to construct a new approach for individual social acculturation.
