In the era of knowledge economy and informationization,innovative talents with practical ability,life-long learning ability,and correct world outlook,outlook on life,and values can better adapt to social development and the progress of the times.The new round of basic education curriculum reform encourages independent,cooperative,and inquiry-based learning,pays more attention to the overall development of students,and emphasizes the improvement of students' subject competence and comprehensive literacy.History education plays an important role in cultivating students' innovative spirit,practical ability,and improving humanistic literacy.In order to make better use of the educational function of history education,history teaching must change the traditional teaching concepts and methods to conform to the development trend of the times.Inquiry teaching is an important way for students to develop their subjectivity,change their learning styles,and promote individual growth and all-round development.It has an important role in cultivating innovative talents in the new era.Inquiry-based teaching is also an effective way for teachers to implement the curriculum concept and the fundamental task of cultivating people,improving the quality of teaching,and promoting their own development.The new history textbook for junior middle school was put into use nationwide in September 2017.Inquiry teaching is an important way to effectively use the new teaching materials to achieve educational goals,to give full play to the teaching function of history teaching,and to promote the all-round and life-long development of students.This article is based on the relevant theories of inquiry-based teaching,and chooses the lessons in the MOE textbook as the starting point.Combined with the history teaching practice and investigation research in a middle school in Beibei,it focuses on how to make the most benefit of inquiry-based teaching in the new version of the history textbooks for junior middle school.The first part expounds the reasons for choosing the topic,the research results,research methods and innovations of inquiry teaching and history inquiry teaching at home and abroad.The second part is a basic explanation of the concepts and theoretical foundations of inquiry teaching.It clarifies the meanings of inquiry teaching and historical inquiry teaching,and discusses the relevant theoretical basis of inquiry teaching.The third part analyzes the characteristics of the latest version of history textbooks.The fourth part expounds the significance of inquiry teaching in the teaching of new history textbooks in junior middle school from the two dimensions of student development,teacher teaching and professional development.The fifth part selects two lessons from the new edition of the textbook as an example for inquiry teaching design,and comprehensively analyzes and reflects on its application effects.The sixth part investigates some junior middle school history teachers and students in Beibei District,and analyzes the current situation and possible problems of inquiry teaching in practical application.The seventh part combines the related theoretical research and the analysis of the new history textbook for junior middle school.Based on the exploration of teaching practice and investigation research,it explores the application strategies of applicating inquiry teaching in the teaching of history new textbook for junior middle school.The eighth part is the concluding remarks.
