Under the background of the new curriculum reform,history textbooks are unified from the previous four versions that the PEP edition,the people's edition,the Yuelu edition,and the elephant edition into the only version approved by the Ministry of education--the unified edition.There are many comparative studies on the four old versions of history textbooks.While new historical textbooks of unified editions have been tried out nation wide since the autumn of 2019,the comparative study of textbooks is almost blank.It goes without saying that history education occupies an important position in quality-oriented education and history books have important social and human functions as well.Besides,the content of "Ancient Chinese Literature and Art" is the concentrated embodiment of the traditional excellent culture,which can not only highlight the wisdom and greatness of the Chinese nation but also help the cultivation of students' core literacy.However,there are many obstacles in practical teaching for a great many of history teachers do not pay much attention to the "Ancient Chinese Literature and Art" part and the related textbooks are also not sufficiently studied.The comparison between the PEP edition and the unified edition aims to highlight the editing characteristics of the latter.And it is hoped that the research will provide a useful reference for the improvement of subsequent teaching materials and likewise teachers' teaching implementation.This paper is mainly composed of four parts.The first part is the introduction,which briefly introduces the background of the topic,existing research results,research value,research ideas and innovations.The second part focuses on comparing the curriculum requirements of "Ancient Chinese Literature and Art" section from the editions of history curriculum standards in2003 and 2017,then highlighting the characteristics of the two.The third part is the key content of this article.It sums up the unique points of the PEP edition and the unified edition respectively through the comparison of the contents of "ancient Chinese literature and art" between the two editions in terms of structure,text and auxiliary system.The fourth part,it provides suggestions for the teaching materials and the teaching procedure of the unified textbook on the basis of interview given by high school history teachers and a large amount of literature reading.
